By default, the "Web" option is selected to model the application.
The "Mobile" option allows to model the mobile application associated with the web application, only if the latter was saved or published.
When clicking the "Model Mobile Application" button, if that mobile application exists, a new modeler tab is opened. On the other hand, if the application does not exist, a panel opens to create a new associated mobile application.
